Lecture: Nik Silver Efex

DxO Silver Efex Pro is, in my opinion, the best black-and-white photo editing software. It is now part of the Nik Collection by DxO. I have been using it for over 20 years, and despite having tried many other black-and-white applications, Silver Efex still produces the most “photographic” looking conversions.

 In this talk, I will show and explain:

• The user interface and how to navigate Silver Efex

• Opening images into Silver Efex from Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop

• The differences between using Silver Efex in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop

• Making global and local adjustments to your image

• Using and creating presets

• Applying creative effects such as toning, emulating film, adding borders etc.
